PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ EVERYTHING & LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS BEFORE BUYING, AND IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS NOT ANSWERED IN THE LISTING WE WILL GLADLY RESPOND TO YOU.
For sale is a men’s vintage 1947 Omega Automatic Bumper wristwatch. The watch features its original dial, gold-tone applied hour markers, gold painted number at “12”, gold-tone hands, original blued steel sweep seconds hand, original signed crown, a beefy stainless steel case with screw in back, a new high grade genuine leather strap, and a caliber 351 movement with 17 jewels. The case measures 34.25 mm in diameter without the crown by 42.25 mm lug tip to tip. The watch was serviced by us (August 2018), which included a complete disassembly of the movement, cleaning, oiling, timing, and adjusting for accuracy. The case, & crystal were gently polished and cleaned. The dial and hands were very gently cleaned. As you can see from the photos the case has fine surface scratches (we didn’t over-polish and left it original). The dial has aged and has stains and spots. It cannot be cleaned off but instead of refinishing it we left it alone as it has a nice and even patina.
This is a vintage watch, and it should not be used in water. It should also be known that most Omegas after service will run approximately within 10 seconds off per day (as they were new from factory), however, it is a vintage watch so it’s not like a brand new watch and will not be 100% perfect. If you’re looking for perfection or intend to examine a vintage watch under a microscope I would recommend that you would buy a new watch. We try to describe the items as best we can but it is possible we might miss a “spot” or “stain” or “scratch” or “ding”. Please keep this in mind we’re here to help and we are not trying to omit anything purposely.
